Featured Project: Memory Wire Bracelet

Everyone loves a multi-strand bracelet, and memory wire is a great way to get the multi-strand look without having to worry about a clasp.

A fun and easy way to create a memory wire bracelet is to use leftover beads or bead mixes. Stringing beads on randomly will give your bracelet an eclectic look that will go with just about any outfit.

Tools:

  • Round-nose Pliers
  • Chain-nose Pliers
  • Memory Wire cutters

Ingredients:

  • One coil of bracelet sized memory wire, 3 - 4 revolutions
  • An assortment of 4-12 mm beads ( depending on the size and shape of the beads you choose you may need as few as 30 or as many as 75)
  • Two to three vials of seed beads for spacing larger beads
  • If using method 1 to finish the ends - Two memory wire end beads and super glue

Hint: avoid using tube-shaped beads that are longer than 10mm. They can be difficult to string onto the memory wire and may distort the shape of your bracelet.

Directions:

  1. Begin your project by finishing off one of the ends of the memory wire coil so that the beads do not slide off as you string them.
  2. String beads onto the open end of the memory wire coil in a random pattern until you have completely covered the memory wire with beads. Be sure to leave enough room at the end of the coil to finish off your bracelet.
  3. Finish off the end of the memory wire using the same method that you used for the other end.
