It is my pleasure to introduce you to the Boston Bead Company. After 20 years as a Beadworks Franchise we are now a fully independent small business, with shops in Cambridge and Salem, Massachusetts. Our goals are to bring you the finest beads, beading components and jewelry-making tools, to teach you beading techniques through in-store demonstrations, our extensive calendar of classes, and our online beading resource beadOpedia, and to educate you about the art, craft and history of beads and beading.

Our Stores

Boston Bead Company retail stores offer an ever-changing selection of the finest beads, semi-precious gemstones, pearls, seed beads, glass and natural beads as well as findings of every material, tools, books, ready-made jewelry and accessories. Our friendly and knowledgeable staff are always available to assist you with your jewelry-making needs.

We also offer an extensive calendar of beading classes, jewelry repair services and host bead parties for all ages. Please explore our website to discover all that we have to offer.

Carson Eddy, Owner of Boston Bead Company has turned her creative background into an always-evolving retail business in which she can share her knowledge of personal adornment and design with the community.

Rachael, our Buyer, has spent years immersed in the bead world, learning the business from the ground up. Together Carson and Rachael hand select every product Boston Bead Company sells.

Kate, our staff Designer, is an artist and jewelry designer who has shared her creativity with us for nearly a decade. Combined, our team brings over 40 years of experience as bead buyers, jewelry designers, and retail managers.

We are pleased to offer electronic Gift Cards. Our Gift Cards may be purchased in our stores or online. Our Gift Cards may only be redeemed in our Cambridge and Salem stores only. Gift Cards purchased online are available in $25, $50, $75 and $100 amounts. Gift Cards purchased in our stores are available in any denomination.

Jewelry Repairs
Stringing & Knotting

Our Cambridge and Salem stores are pleased to accept most stringing and knotting repairs. By definition a repair is the exact reconstruction of an existing, broken or worn-out piece of jewelry. We don't do custom work but we would love to teach you how to create somthing new from your broken or worn-out piece of jewelry and how to make it yourself. We also do not accept repairs that require soldering. A reputable jeweler in your area is always your best resource for soldering repairs.

Student Discount

Boston Bead Company is pleased to introduce our new discount program just for college and graduate students. Our Student Beader Discount offers college and graduate students (with a current college ID) a 15% discount on purchases of $15 or more (pre-tax).

*No Double Discounts. The Student Discount can not be combined with the Frequent Beader Program or other offers. Certain restrictions apply. 

Designer Discount

The Boston Bead Company is pleased to offer a sales-tax free discount to registered Designers who purchase materials for resale or who incorporate materials purchased from us in an item that is to be resold.
